Corduroy dreams

There are few things I love more than corduroy. In my opinion, it’s timeless.

It completely makes an outfit and I think it’s one of the most interesting street-style materials.

Like I said, it’s timeless and it plays a huge part in the 20-year fashion cycle. A few weeks ago, I was sitting in the garage with my dad and I found a crumple up piece of something old, navy and corduroy. I asked him what it was and he said they were an old pair of pants from the 90s. This sounds like nothing, but if you know my dad you’d know he’s a bit more double denim than NYFW. Don’t get me wrong, he’s got style I just never thought he’d own something cord! But not only is it timeless, but it’s current. I mean Rex Orange County has a song about it so if teenagers are singing about it, it must be in style (I’ll talk about this in another entry but the way media affects fashion is actually really interesting).

Also, it’s an investment piece, you only need one corduroy jacket or good pair of pants and you’re good to go!

In my personal collection I have a green corduroy jacket from Primark in France, which I don’t think they’re selling anymore. I’ve also got a pair of sky blue pants that end just above the ankle and are loose at the bottom from another shop in France, Bershka.

Because the weather is excruciatingly hot in Australia, I haven’t had a chance to wear either of these but the cool weather is slowly but surely creeping in and I can’t wait to put some outfits together.

This colour is a 10/10 and I'm imagining that the pants end in a flare.
